Share the Stoke Foundation has teamed up with young surfer, turned ambassador Logan Kamen, to deliver much needed wetsuits to the Girl’s Surf Team in Chicama, Peru. The girl’s surf team was established in 2013 by both the Share the Stoke Foundation, and Carhley Bolz of the Peace Corps.
Upon hearing the demand for wetsuits in Chicama, Kamen jumped on board to help out in any way possible. With Kamen’s efforts, the foundation was eventually able to gather right around 200 pounds of old wetsuits to be donated to the girls in Chicama.
In addition to providing wetsuits, Kamen and STSF were able to show the girls how to repair small dings and such on their boards themselves, instead of having them sent out for repair elsewhere.
Kelly Kingston, founder of the Share the Stoke Foundation, says, “we have huge plans for 2015 which include impacting kids in Mexico, Portugal during the WSL event, Nicaragua, Barbados, Panama and many more.”
It is apparent that the Share the Stoke Foundation has many impactful incentives ahead to help countless others achieve the thrill, and stoke, of surfing.
