Nomads and vagabonds. Runaway sons and daughters. Weather the storm together under one roof. Odd ball observers and sharp witted wordsmiths. An eye for natural lines. A knack for the magic in subtleties.
“We are The Astray – Instinct led, authentic to the teeth.”
Astray Films‘ Dark Side of the Lens profiles the lives and experiences of Ireland’s underwater filmmakers, directed by Mickey Smith. With stunning Irish landscapes and artistic cinematography, the multi-award winning film pays tribute to the men on the other side of the lens and their capacity to interpret the art of the ocean. Not only is Dark Side of the Lens special in the way it demonstrates the art behind surf photography, but also in the way it captures some of the magic that can only be experienced through surfing a place as fierce and beautiful as Ireland.
