Hercules has stood up to its name, as the XXXL winter storm continues to produce unreal swell. The Atlantic Ocean is bigger than anyone has ever seen before, in this century anyhow. As the greatest paddle racing champion ever, Australia’s Jamie Mitchell is perfectly designed to catch the biggest paddle wave of all time. He certainly made a brilliant effort toward that goal with this wave today at Belharra, France.
“How do you think this compares to the current world record?” posted Billabong XXL.
The mission to ride the biggest paddle waves ever was on today during at Belharra Reef, France, with a stellar crew taking it on. StabMag reported that Shane Dorian paddled the two best waves of the day.
“This has been the first real paddle session here,” photographer Nic Dazet told StabMag.com. “Peyo Lizarazu whipped into the best tow wave of the day, but then it turned into a paddle-only session. Jamie Mitchell did the sickest air drop on the biggest one of the day, easy 30 feet, but then ate sh*t… A lot of broken boards…”
Witnesses are reporting that Twiggy Baker and plenty of Basque locals were also in the lineup. Female French charger, Justine Dupont, is also in the water.
