Shot on location in Southern Baja California, “Adventure Time” raises the concept of what it takes to find good waves on a surf trip. Sometimes you gotta kick in the four-wheel drive and take an adventure to explore different locations that are closer than you actually think. Surfing talent, 18-year-old Lucas Dirkse, is a local from Windansea, La Jolla, also a citizen of México born in La Paz, BCS.
“Adventure Time” provides glimpses into Jack Chellemi’s talent for filmmaking as he documents pieces of the Southern Baja California environment, playful waves, and marine life set against a fitting soundtrack of soothing beats and Spanish lyrics. The video short also showcases Lucas Dirkse’s skill in surfing as he devours the fun waves on offer complete with airs, smooth rail turns, and barrel time. Filmmaker Jack Chellemi resides in Carlsbad and began making short films at the age of 13. He has been spreading digital aloha ever since for academics and Korduroy.tv, and was featured in the inaugural San Diego Surf Film Festival with a short film featuring progressive surfing at Pipe called, “Take 5.”
