ASP has confirmed one of the five stops on the 2013 ASP Europe Men and Women series and is pleased to confirm that the 1- Star Men and Women’s Soöruz Royan Atlantique Pro Junior will return to the beautiful coastline of Côte Sauvage of Royan, France.
ASP tour manager, Rob Gunning, confirms the event, “The Sooruz Royan Atlantique Pro Junior will be the starting point for both our men’s and women’s pro junior series for 2013. Everyone is excited about getting this year’s juniro tour underway and this even with its quality beach breaks on the ‘Cote Sauvage’ of Royan will be perfect show case for Europe’s finest under 20 surfers both male and female.”
Despite the economical situation of the whole industry is facing at the moment, organizers have fought to keep Royan on the event schedule and with the help and support of the local area, surfing brands and Sooruz, the event is now scheduled to return.
“The Surf Club Royan Atlantique, lead by Isabelle Peyvel, have done a great job in getting the event back on the schedule for this season and ASP Europe is grateful for the hard work and support shown to our junior surfers put in by both the club and the event sponsors.”
The tough conditions at the beach breaks of ‘la côte sauvage’ make the location a proving grounds for up and coming athletes. Last year it was 19 year olds Ramzi Boukhiam and Biance Buitendag that dominated their divisions to win the competition.
“This is definitely our biggest event here at the Surf Club Royan Atlantique,” Isabelle Peyvel stated. “We are very lucky to host all those European talents for the first event of the season and are looking forward to seeing everyone in Royan, plus this year we’ve ordered some beautiful weather and waves!!”
Everything is set up for 2013 Soöruz Royan scheduled from July 4-7, 2013 on the Côte Sauvage of Royan with promises of great surfing action to showcase for the summer holiday crowds!
