LINEUP OF MUSICAL ARTISTS:
Betty the Shark: 23-year-old Lee Ann Curren is a pro surfer, musician and the daughter of surf legend Tom Curren. Her band Betty The Shark, started in high school with good friend Charphil. The pair have been inseparable. Together, they write music and lyrics for all their songs and have forged a unique sound, part-way between grunge and surf music. ‘Sad Bad and Glad’, released in early 2013, is their debut EP.
Lili Fint: Reunionese star, Justine Mauvin, was writing and performing her own music well before she became a surfer and model. Her music tells the story of her journey, and her powerful voice contrasts stunningly with her delicate folk melodies. Not to be missed.
Queen of Diamonds: Inspired by the likes of Jimmy Eat the World, The Foo Fighters or No Doubt, the band was formed in 2008 and has developed a distinctive 90s sound. Spotted by the Drop In label, which pro- duced their first Californian-influenced album and in particular their hit single «Mis(s)behavior», theirs is a striking blend of rage rock and voluptuous pop.
The Mellow: Gaëtane Abrial and Guillaume Farré are The Mellow, an acoustic folk gem that made their name as a warm-up act for Emily Loi- zeau in Biarritz. The duo write their own music and lyrics, and define their arrangements. The fusion of their two voices is every little bit as harmonious as the creative process. Shelter, their debut album, is a collection of gentle and poetic melodies to be savored.
