Reef Check is focusing their 2013 tropical campaign on the island nation of Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, to help save their reefs. This past year Reef Check was named the #1 Ecosystem Conservation Group in the world and was awarded the Katerva Award for their hard work. To continue saving reefs around the world, Reef Check needs help.
98% of Haitian’s do not know how to swim! Reef Check must train more EcoDiver teams to complete the first ever survey of Haiti’s reefs and set up the country’s first marine parks. The first step towards empowering the next generation of Haitians to understand and love their reefs they must first step in the water. The goal of the EcoDiver program is to get two more teams and 250 kids learning to swim and snorkel in 2013!
By donating $25 to the Haiti Kids Program, Reef Check will be able to teach one child to swim, snorkel and learn about their beautiful reefs!
Any donations of $200 or more will get a copy of the beautiful Haiti From Below book featuring 85 gorgeous pages of amazing photos from the coral reefs of Haiti.
Please donate now and help Haitians save their reefs, any donation makes a huge difference! To become an EcoDiver, donate or learn about other great Reef Check projects visit the website at http://reefcheck.org/.
