Sasha Makia Spiller-Reiff, popularly known as Sashamon, discovered his musical talent in elementary school when he began strumming the ukulele on the small Hawaiian island of Moloka’i. It wasn’t until he began sharing his music with the surf community that his tracks became viral. The “Necta” song quickly became one of the most requested tracks in Hawai’i, featured in many surf films, including Jamie O’Brien’s “Freak Show” and “Freak Side.” During the “LOCAL STYLE” music video, Mike Rodger walks us down to Uluwatu’s famous break, stopping midway to recognize the traditional blessing of the swell.
