Just the word shark alone is enough to keep some people out of the ocean completely. That’s why when the news broke out about brave beach-goer, Paul Marshallsea, battling a shark in Australia and being fired for it, public opinion on the matter went viral. According to EMS1, the 62-year-old male from South Wales, England was on vacation with his wife when a shark approached some children who cried out for help and Marshallsea responded heroically by wrestling the shark and pulling it away from the people in danger.
The Pant and Dowlais Boys and Girls Club didn’t find the situation as enlightening as others, however, (or maybe they didn’t believe his astonishing story) because Marshallsea was immediately let go from his position as Project Coordinator at the children’s non-profit organization. The Boys and Girls Club was under the impression that Marshallsea was on sick leave for work related stress, reportedly firing Marshalsea due to breach of trust.
