Haleiwa was on fire this weekend with pumping swell for Reef Hawaiian Pro competitors to pull off incredible barrels, aerials and pure power surfing. Fans on shore were definitely not disappointed with the action that took place between the high scoring heat of Australian Tom Whitaker, mind-blowing maneuvers of Ventura’s Dane Reynolds, the tube-riding finesse of Hawaiian Torrey Meister and the iconic Clash of the Legends. Locals and visitors packed Haleiwa to check out the action at the Reef Hawaiian Pro 2012 themselves, the first leg of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing. Though Saturday’s competition didn’t hold the same pumping swell as Friday, competitors were able to rely on their aerial game to get them through to the next round. The ASP World Championship Tour athletes joined the competition to put pressure on the locals and international competitors that are battling for the title of the Vans Triple Crown 2012. With countless competitors, the judges for the Reef Hawaiian Pro managed to score a total of 1,053 individual rides throughout the day.
