Experience in professional competitions: I have participated in three Billabong Pro Junior South American events in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, two WQS (World Qualifying Series) events also in Salvador, and a few competitions in the Northeast of Brazil.
Amateur Titles: Team Brazil Champion (competing with top WT pros in 2006) and School State Champion.
Average Competition Participation: Around 90 competitions in a period of 10 years; I started surfing when I was 11 years old. First aerial when I was 12.
Participation in Competitons: WT (World Tour) Rio de Janeiro 2011. It was amazing seeing the best surfers in the world surfing by my side. It was also nice to see a Brazilian win at home. I am familiar with Adriano de Souza’s style from watching him surf in competitions here in Itacare.
Facilities in Surfing: Larger waves, frontside 360 air reverses, big turns (kicking the tail out), backside airs, and backside hacks.
Favorite Maneuvers: Tubes, double grab air, and aerials.
Preferred Break: Tiririca (Itacaré, Bahia)
Why: It is where all the major championships of Bahia are held. I competed here for the first time in my life at the age of 10, and I also have many great memories of this classic and perfect wave.
Dreams: Compete with the best surfers, and surf the best waves in the world.
Dream Destination: California
Why? The United States has a very high level for professional surfing and their waves are great to surf.
How did you start surfing? My brother took my sister and I to the beach to surf and I ended up falling in love with the sensation!
