The video trailer for the Roxy Pro Biarritz definitely opens up conversation about the role of female surfing in advertising. Roxy has been a dominating force in female athletics for years, promoting an active lifestyle, female empowerment and encouraging women to paddle out. Surfer Magazine published an opinion piece about the video, claiming the trailer to be “All Sexy, No Surfing.” Surfers, both men and women, are commenting via social media with their opinion on the daring video. Pro surfer and 3X World Longboard Champion, Cori Schumacher, even started a petition on Change.org to stop the campaign altogether.
