Gabriel Medinas Institute of Surf opened this January of 2017. The new training facility will catered to a select few kids ranging from ages 10-16 years old, that live in Maresias, Brazil. His main goals of the new institute is to form new values in the sport of surfing and subject groms to the world champs trainings.
The facility has a gym for training, a swimming pool, and a classroom stocked with computers. Additionally, the institute has a room dedicated to some of Medina’s prized possessions including his trophys, boards, and other momentos.
“I’m very pleased,” said Medina. “It has always been a dream of mine and my family’s to help those children and, as a result, supporting my sport.”
Not only is this facility everything Medina ever dreamed of, it was even built on the beach where he caught his very first wave! If that’s not sentimental, we don’t know what is!
