Surfrider San Diego’s 16th Annual Art Gala Helps Keep Our Coast Beautiful
SAN DIEGO – The San Diego County Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation proudly presents the 16th Annual Art Gala on Friday, May 6th from 6 to 10 p.m. at Paradise Point Resort & Spa, 1404 Vacation Road San Diego, CA 92109.
From featured artworks to interactive event experiences, guests at the Gala will be treated to an evening of art, entertainment, and ocean advocacy at the waterfront hotel. Ticketholders will enjoy live music by Josh Damigo and Lee Coulter. Experience live art demonstrations by featured artists Jared Lazer, John Colqui and Shawn Erler and bid on artwork, furniture and experience packages in a silent and live auction setting. Featured art pieces have been highlighted in the Art Gala blog and many of the artists will be in attendance.
According to Chapter Chair, Mark West, “We are so fortunate to have the support of San Diego’s artist community, who have once more showered us with a tremendous amount of support. We are excited to feature such amazing local talent. This will be a night to remember.”
The 16th Annual Art Gala will also honor this year’s award winners for their dedication to the organization’s mission of protecting the oceans, waves and beaches of San Diego County. This year’s award winners include the Stone Brewing Company, and volunteers Dave Schmidt and Ana Wang.
Mandy Sackett, Chapter Manager invites San Diegans to attend stating, “The Art Gala is the perfect opportunity to get out for a night of fun and to get involved in your community. We gather everyone for an epic night of music, art, food and drinks. All proceeds go directly to our work protecting San Diego’s precious coastline.”
San Diego radio personality Tommy Hough, of 91X, will act as emcee for the event. The 21+ event includes fantastic food fare provided by Paradise Point Resort & Spa, Jimbo’s…Naturally, and Green Spot Salad Company. Libations will be supplied by Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Stone Brewing Co and Coronado Brewing Company. Coronado Brewing Company will also be unveiling a new Surfrider San Diego Summer Ale. $60 General Admission tickets include entrance to the event, food and drinks and can be purchased online here. The event is expected to sell out once more so get tickets now and help protect San Diego’s coastline.
Proceeds directly benefit the chapter’s education, outreach and advocacy initiatives aimed at protecting San Diego County’s coastline.
