As one of the most dangerous waves to surf in the world, Pipeline serves as the proving grounds for professional surfers. Deep caves, sharp reef, and fast, hollow tubes make this North Shore icon like no other wave.
Each year, the reef break hosts the famed Billabong Pipe Masters, where a world champion is crowned. Surfers travel from all over to get their share of the winter swell at Pipeline, many hoping to make a name for themselves as worthy competitors within the sport.
Listen to surfers Anthony Walsh, Mason Ho, Nikki Van Dijk, surf photographer Zak Noyle, and North Shore lifeguard Rob Dorr, give the low down on Oahu’s most famous lineup.
