Jim Phillips is a national treasure. The talented artist has painted the history of surfing with dynamic color, drawing some of the first illustrations ever published in The Surfer’s Journal. From his woody road trip depictions to Santa Cruz comics, his illustrations have influenced surf culture as we know it today.
Jim’s son, Jimbo Phillips, has established himself as an icon in skateboarding, most known for his “screaming hand” graphic. He is the designer of The Skate Channel Television Network logo, and has passed down his talent to his son, Colby.
Three generations of the Phillips family join us for a 2-hour special on Off the Lip Radio Show: Jim, Jimbo and Colby.
