Soul Surfer fans now have a show to look forward to every Friday night. Hawaiian surfer Bethany Hamilton along with her husband, Adam Dirks, will face 10 duo teams beginning tonight for the season premiere of The Amazing Race.
The Amazing Race is a reality TV game show that features 11 teams that battle over mind-boggling and grueling challenges around the world. Each team will only get to move on to their next location after finishing their task. The first team to reach the final destination will be declared as The Amazing Race winners and will receive $1 million.
Hamilton is known for losing her arm in a tiger shark attack at the age of 13 while surfing at home in Kauai. She has continued to surf professionally and has remained as an inspiration and role model to many. She is now ready to take on a new challenge with her husband for an opportunity to win $1 million.
“Bethany continually blows my mind when we’re surfing,” Adam Dirks said. “She’ll pull these amazing moves that I can’t even do with two arms and she’s doing it with one arm. I’d fall more and more in love with her.”
Hamilton and Dirks, “the soul surfers”, love adventure and are confident to do well in this roller coaster ride. Past seasons of The Amazing Race consisted of a mixture of laughter, smiles, emotional breakdowns, frustration, screaming, crying, etc. It will be a tough competition, so every team will need to rely on their partner’s support to get through it.
