Many claimed these were the best contest conditions in 25 years, as the 2014 MSA Classic Invitational went off in consistent shoulder-to-overhead surf under sunny skies, with a superb field of competitors and smiles all around. Some of the USA’s most talented surfers put on excellent performances, longboarding the world famous First Point in Malibu, California.

Taking first place in four of thirteen individual divisions, the members of La Jolla’s Windansea Surf Club won the prestigious Club Overall crown. The win was WSC’s second this season and the second time in three years it’s won the MSA event.
The Hawai’i Longboard Association finished second and took two individual titles including the highly competitive M 20-29 (Matthew Pasamonte, Maui, HI) and W 14-19 (Honolua Blomfield, Oahu, HI). The Oceanside Longboard Surfing Club, host Malibu Surfing Association, and Malibu Boardriders Club rounded out the top five.
