The community of Santa Barbara has been asked to stay out of the water on Sunday June 8th, after seven people spotted a great white shark at Leadbetter Beach. According to the Shark Research Committee report, the lingering shark made its way inside of the buoys, likely chasing down a seal or sea lion. Authorities interviewed various witnesses about the sighting, and decided to take action by closing the beach for 24 hours. Thankfully, no one has been injured and some swimmers and surfers aren’t even frightened by the shark in the lineup.
