The Chasing Mavericks movie put big waves on the big screen, and put Northern California on the map as the surfing capital. The Hollywood picture blew up the cities of Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz, telling the dramatic story of legendary local surfers. The film’s protagonist and cold-blooded charger, “Frosty”, was played by actor Gerard Butler. Known as the man who inspired and mentored the late Jay Moriarity, real-life Frosty Hesson has plenty of tales to tell, and is this week’s guest on Off the Lip Radio Show.
