Thanks to the rapid growth of POV cameras, the eyes of the surfing world have been opened wider than ever. From different views of inside 20ft barrels, to the exploration of underwater sea life, surfers around the world are discovering the sport from a drastically new perspective. Recently, sharks have been hot-on-the-radar for wave riders, specifically in the South Bay region.
El Porto, located in Manhattan Beach, is known for shark sightings up and down the beach. In this video, a stand up paddle boarder follows around a 7-9 ft great white shark in the lineup near countless surfers. Similar to the previous video we posted regarding a shark sighting in Manhattan Beach, it’s quite a relief to know that this shark is the opposite of ‘blood thirsty.’
