A surfer himself, Bruce McPherson is still walking the nose at age 70. As the 30th California Secretary of State sworn in March 30, 2005, McPherson is a California politician who knows how complex it is to protect our oceans, and our sport. The former legislator from Santa Cruz was also the editor of the Santa Cruz Sentinel, and is this week’s legendary guest of Off the Lip Radio Show to talk about experience surfing with Richard Schmidt, in addition to surfing politics.
Also joining this week’s “Surfing Politics” show is former Santa Cruz Mayor, Hilary Bryant. A soul surfer herself, Bryant focused on developing positive and sustainable tourism in surf capital USA. She is a well-respected member of the local surf community, and will be a valuable guest to talk surfing politics.
