In an attempt to raise funds for the Whale and Dolphin Conservatory, British swimmer Adam Walker set his eyes on the goal of swimming the hardest seven oceans. The bodies of water that make up ‘Oceans 7’ include the North Channel, Cook Strait, Molokai Channel, English Channel, Catalina Channel, Tsugaru Channel, and the Strait of Gibraltar. Unexpectedly during his trek across the Cook Strait, Walker was joined by a pod of dolphins on his open ocean swim for an hour.
Many news outlets have reported these dolphins saved Walker from a shark during the hour of time they spent swimming alongside of him. Whether or not that really happened, there is no doubt that this swim coach had an experience that most people only dream about.
