Living by faith and not by sight, blind surfer Derek Rabelo charges the barreling waves of Pipeline. After his video surfing the North Shore with local Makua Rothman went viral, Walking On Water Films decided to share his story on the big screen, inspiring others to pursue their dreams and overcome any challenge.
Derek once told me that surfing brings him closer to God. He loves big, hollow barrels. Some of his friends tell him that if he could see, he probably wouldn’t paddle out. Walking On Water Films, a San Diego-based nonprofit organization, and S4J Hawaii Productions have completed production of Beyond Sight: The Derek Rabelo Story for release in theaters near you.
This week’s legendary guest on Off the Lip Radio Show is the Beyond Sight film Director, Bryan Jennings. A former pro surfer himself, Jennings has shared the stories of inspirational figures in surfing with the world through his films.
