Growing up on the East Coast, photographer Brian Bielmann never imagined being where he is today. With a small amount of cash in his pocket in 1975, the aspiring surf photographer left home and headed straight for Hawai’i. Just three years later, Bielmann picked up his first camera on the North Shore of O’ahu with the brilliant plan of spending more time in the water, and less working. Now, over 30 years later, Brian Bielmann is one of the most highly esteemed names in surf photography today.
“Don’t fear change and don’t fear the future,” Bielmann recommends.

With a passion for photography and a love of music, Bielmann meshes the two together to create beautifully unique imagery. As one of the staff photographers for Transworld Surf, Bielmann has had hundreds of photos printed, made countless cover shots, and has earned various awards for his photography.
