Heavy surf came through on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 for a Mavericks warm-up at the dangerous Northern California break. Many of big wave surfing’s finest were in the line-up to test the waters, preparing for a possible start the the Body Glove Mavericks Invitational presented by GoPro, an Xpreshon Big Wave World Tour event. Unfortunately, the heavy swell took a toll on a few of the athletes as rescue teams came in to assist in a few emergency situations.
