The Mauli Ola Foundation is returning to Hawai’i this winter season in anticipation for their final three events of the 2013 calendar. With the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing in full swing, MOF will join the world’s greatest surfers, personalities, humanitarians and industry leaders on Oahu’s North Shore at the 2nd Annual Mauli Ola Foundation Benefit Concert presented by GoPro. Set to take place December 12th at the North Shore’s only resort destination, Turtle Bay Resort, MOF is offering a gourmet dinner and headliner entertainment.
THE GREEN, DONAVON FRANKENREITER, MAKUA ROTHMAN, TAPUARII LAUGHLIN, ERNIE CRUZ JR AND TAHITI MANA DANCE TROUPE, will perform to help raise awareness and funds to support Mauli Ola’s mission of introducing surfing as a natural therapy to those facing the challenges of genetic disorders.
Before bringing the festivities to The Turtle Bay Resort, MOF will kick off their North Shore events with an Ocean Experience Day for the American Cancer Society on December 7th, at Bellow’s Beach Park. MOF will be partnering with Ambry Genetics for the 4th year in a row to support the three day American Cancer Society Family Camp that is offered to the local Hawaiians who are facing the challenges of cancer. From 1pm-5pm, campers will spend time with professional athletes surfing, swimming, kayaking and more.
Next, MOF will migrate to Haleiwa for the 6th Annual Surf Experience Day hosted by island local, Kala Alexander on Sunday, December 8th. From 9am- 12pm, participants will meet at Ali’I Beach Park for surf lessons from their favorite athletes. Past and current surfers who attended the event include: Sunny Garcia, Jamie O’Brien, Kalani Robb, the Ho brothers, Gavin Beschen, Carissa Moore, Rochelle Ballard, Mark Occhillupo, Kelly Slater, and dearly missed legend, Buttons Kaluhiokalani.
