The Inertia presents the Headspace interview series, this week featuring ASP World Championship Tour 2013 rookie, Nat Young (USA). Growing up just a few blocks from Steamer Lane, Young had a front row seat to all of the drug and gang abuse that festered in Santa Cruz. The Hurley athlete admits what he learned from growing up in Northern California and shares his goals for the remainder of the year, his worst fears, and what he really thinks about true love.
WCT rookie Nat Young was impressively strong on his backhand throughout the Rip Curl Pro in Victoria, Australia, leading him to his first World Championship Tour final ever against Brazilian Adriano de Souza. Neither De Souza and Young were favored to make the finals over the defending champions and Aussie locals Mick Fanning and Taj Burrow, but they sure put on an excellent show at Bells Beach.
