Pe’ahi welcomed in the 2013-2014 winter season with an awe-inspiring show that most only experience in their nightmares. Known worldwide as Jaws, this vicious break located on the North Shore of Maui, Hawai’i certainly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to giant swells. The most unfathomable part is that there are actually a few surfers in this world crazy enough to throw themselves over the massive lips of these dangerous waves.
On November 13, a handful of big wave athletes charged the heavy waves at Jaws, scoring some amazing rides and surviving the worst wipeouts of the first giant, winter swell of the season. Fish Bowl Diaries photographer, Sofie Louca, was on the scene freezing priceless moments in time to share with the world.
