It was a Hawaiian stacked final during the Vans HIC Pro held at Sunset Beach, as Mason Ho, Pancho Sullivan, Evan Valiere, and Gavin Gillette took to the pumping swell. Ho managed to defeat local veteran Sullivan by 3.26 points, after executing some giant hacks and pulling out of several barrels. The Hawaiian Lost Enterprises and Arnette team rider walked away with $15,000, the No.1 position on the ASP Hawaii regional rankings, and a wildcard into the Round of 64 for the first two events of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.
