New York – October 24, 2013 – Considered the biggest surf event in the world, the Vans US Open of Surfing comes to NBC, as part of the 2013 Red Bull Signature Series. Coverage of the event begins Saturday at 4p.m. ET on NBC, followed by the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The first hour will highlight competitive surfing at the iconic Huntington Beach pier in Surf City, USA, during the largest youth culture festival in the industry. Featuring the best of the best in surfing, this year’s stars include Kolohe Andino and Brazilian Alejo Muniz, 2013 ASP Women’s World Tour Champion Carissa Moore, Aussie Tyler Wright, and local favorite Courtney Conlogue. The Vans US Open of Surfing also features the Van Doren Invitational with Jam sessions in Skate featuring Ben Hatchell and Greyson Fletcher and BMX up-and-comer Daniel Sandoval. This is the second consecutive year that the U.S. Open of Surfing will be a part of the Red Bull Signature Series.

Conceived by pro rider Anthony Napolitan, with a course brought to life by master builder Adam Aloise, fans can tune into the action on NBC on November 9, as part of the Red Bull Signature Series.
