On a journey to create a documentary film that stands out from all the rest, photographer and surf enthusiast, Timothy Hogan, explores the most important element of surfing- the FIN. Hogan and a team of others who are passionate about surfing, art, and life, would like to introduce a film they cannot wait to share with the world called, TheFINproject.
In Hogan’s own words, “The FIN is at the heart of every surfing milestone. Whether it is a shortboard, longboard, kneeboard, or any other type of board, the FIN is what makes it useful.”
Timothy Hogan is both a photographer and an avid surfer that feels a strong desire to combine the two. Before deciding on focusing his film just on the fin, Hogan explored the different eras of surfing and met with many board shapers. TheFINproject gets to the heart of where surfing came from and presents beautiful, artistic photography. Many inspiring men who are responsible for each new era in surfing have been a part of the TheFINproject: Tom Blake, Bob Simmons, George Greenough, the Campbell Brothers, Mark Richards and Simon Anderson.
TheFINproject is not only about surfing, it engages audiences from any walk of life to follow their passions and dreams. The makers of this groundbreaking film have created a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise the $80,000 by November 3rd, 2013, that they need to complete the film.
To be apart of TheFINproject, any donation is welcomed and extremely appreciated. As a backer of this campaign, you will also be getting a piece of beautiful artwork by Hogan who has specially chosen four images that are exclusively available to Kickstarter backers.
