One week the ASP WCT athletes are soaking up the California lifestyle and boosting at Trestles’ rippable break, and the next week they are brushing up on their ‘Bonjours’ and anticipating heavy barrels at the Quiksilver Pro France 2013. Event organizers are working extra hard this year to accommodate the top female athletes as well to compete in the Roxy Pro France during an overlapping waiting period to the men’s event, which hasn’t happened in France for a decade. The swell is promising as competitors prepare for a much-anticipated competition in heavy barrels.
Following the Hurley Pro at Lowers, the ASP World Tour Rankings have shifted to see Mick Fanning (AUS) hold the current number one position, with Kelly Slater (USA) right on his heels and Jordy Smith (ZAF) and Taj Burrow (AUS) to follow.
The Quiksilver Pro France will serve as the third to last event of the 2013 ASP World Championship Tour season with a waiting period from September 26th-October 6th. As we move into the close of the year, the pressure continues to increase as the athletes battle for vital ASP points. Be sure to watch the LIVE action here on TheSurfChannel.com!
