Congratulations to Billabong team rider Taj Burrow (AUS) for taking down fellow ASP World Championship Tour surfer, Julian Wilson (AUS) on the final day of the Hurley Pro 2013. It was a solid match-up as the two progressive athletes took to the air in an exciting Aussie battle.
Despite surfing one more 30-min heat than Wilson, Burrow still brought his A-game at the end of the day, throwing down two high scores of an 8.67 and an 8.40, with a heat total of 17.07. Wilson put up an incredible fight, posting an 8.27 and 7.70, with a heat total of 15.97.
This week’s action brought the ASP World Championship Tour rankings to a new line up, bumping Mick Fanning (AUS) into the number one position, followed by Kelly Slater (USA) in second, Jordy Smith (ZAF) in third, and Taj Burrow (AUS) in fourth place going into the Quiksilver Pro France.
