The 6-Star Swatch Girls Pro France and 2-Star Pro Junior began Wednesday, August 21 in Hossegor. With fun 3-5 ft waves and excellent conditions, the 130 hopeful competitors have been giving it their all for the chance to boost their rankings and win the allocated prize-money. The Swatch Girls Pro France is the second to last stop on the ASP schedule so it plays a vital role in deciding who will be staying amongst the top 17 next year and who can qualify for the elite Women’s World Championship Tour of Surfing.
Competitors were greeted with a clean lineup on the opening day of the Swatch Girls Pro France allowing competition to start right away and complete the first five rounds of the main event, as well as the opening two heats of the Pro Junior before the high tide forced competition to a halt… (read the opening day recap here. )
