The surfers turned Grammy Award-winning rock band, known as Switchfoot, never cease to impress the masses, especially when they are in their realm. Hailing from San Diego, California, the band members could not have felt more at home in Encinitas last Saturday performing in front of thousands of fans at the 9th Annual Switchfoot Bro-Am presented by Hurley. After surfing six different heats throughout the day, Switchfoot topped off the entertainment with a great show above a screaming crowd. Attendees also had the opportunity to enjoy performances by pro surfers Rob Machado and Makua Rothman.
All proceeds from the Switchfoot Bro-Am support the community of San Diego, benefitting local children’s charities and helping the local at-risk youth and homeless children in the area. The funds raised at the pre-event auction night soiree make a huge impact on the organizations that benefit.
