ARISE Festival has announced the band Michael Franti and Spearhead as headliner of the 100+ performer lineup over the three-day event, which kicks off on August 14th at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado.
The festival counts with a variety of musicians, independent films, workshops and environmental speakers. ARISE will feature a diverse lineup including eclectic singer-songwriter Xavier Rudd from Australia, Keller & the Keels, led by iconic Americana and roots rocker Keller Williams and Zap Mama, the poly-ethnic, polyphonic vocal ensemble led by Marie Daulne.
Headliner Michael Franti and Spearhead has gained a worldwide audience through their extensive tour and word of mouth fan support. His hit 2009 single, “Say Hey, I love you,” peaked at number five on the VH1 Top 20 countdown, and appears frequently on feature film soundtracks, being covered by “The Chipmunks and The Chipettes” for the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked. Franti’s 2010 release Sound of Sunshine debuted on the top 17 Billboard Hot charts, breaking the musician into the mainstream airwaves of AAA radio and dance stations around the world.
This year’s festival will be focusing on environmental sustainability. The camping grounds aims to bring conscious living to the festival by including a variety of opportunities for festival-goers to get inspired from some of the nation’s best educators, independent filmmakers and leaders in environmental advocacy.
ARISE will present Julia Butterfly Hill, Daryl Hannah, and Leilani Münter, discussing topics ranging from conservation, biofuels, energy alternatives, and sustainability, to life with incredible stories of triumph and tragedy from years spent on the front lines.
The event will take place on 100 acres of lush valley nestled between pine-covered hills of red sandstone at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.
