Rip Curl partnered with pro surfer Tom Curren to launch a new collection from their Live The Search series. Tom Curren’s collection reflects his influence and contributions to surfing. The collection focuysees on the influences of two timeless moments of Curren’s career in the 90’s. In one image, Curren’s flawless yellow-rail board carve at Backdoor is captured by Tom Servais. The photographer says the image is the “most well-known single action photo I’ve ever taken.”
The other photo — which was taken by Lance Slabbert — showcases Tom Curren’s bottom turning at flawless Jeffrey’s Bay during his first session at the famed righthand point. This moment captured the essence of “Curren on The Search”, which was an inspiring chapter in Tom’s career through the early to mid 90’s.
Rip Curl‘s retail tour with Tom Curren will kick off next week on the west coast. Curren will be playing live music and signing autographs, while Rip Curl will be providing free tacos, giveaways, and more.
