RAREFORM is a company inspiring outdoor enthusiasts around the world. Founded by Alec Avedissian, this brand gives athletes the opportunity to be “active problem solvers”. Beginning after Avedissian decided to go on a six-month trip through South America with some of his closest friends after he had been working in the corporate American world of investment banking and renewable energy. His trip entailed venturing into six different countries, including Peru to find the world’s longest left wave in Chicama and to see the world from a different perspective. Avedissian never imagined such an adventure would have convinced him that business could be done differently.
Specifically in El Savador, Avedissian recognized the relationship between poverty, environmental destruction and the outdoor industry. After seeing polluted lakes and beaches dressed in trash, he vowed to create a business that could value a sustainable lifestyle. Today, Rareform has developed many ways in which people can use what already exists to manufacture products such as their innovative concept of up-cycling outdoor advertising billboard signs and turning them into durable waterproof surf board bags!
One of RAREFORMS‘ first videos in their “Ambassador Series,” features California native surfer and talented songwriter, Marc Beauregard. He is active in both the humanitarian world and environmental agencies due to his efforts in unveiling current crucial environmental issues. Beauregard has also recently become an official Surf Aid Ambassador along with figures like Kelly Slater and Jack Johnson. Not only has he traveled the world, but the artist has developed greenhouses to educate kids about sustainable food growth and has helped raise thousands for organizations like the Surfrider Foundation and Surf Aid International. Check out the talented Marc Beauregard in this episode of the RAREFORM Ambassador Series:
