SATA Airlines Azores Islands Pro Confirmed as ASP Prime Event in 2013

ASP Europe is proud to announce that the SATA Airlines Azores Islands Pro returns to its Prime status for the 2013 tour. The event will be held September 3-8, 2013 in Praia de Santa Bárbara, Sao Miguel. Surfers will battle it out for the prize purse of $250,000 and incredibly valuable ranking points towards qualification for the World Championship Tour.

The prestigious list of past event winners include Willian Cardoso (BRA), CJ Hobgood (USA), Messias Felix (BRA), Laura Enever (AUS), Malia Manuel (HAW) and Bianca Buitendag (ZAF).

Excited about the return of the Azores Islands Pro, ASP Europe’s Tour Manager Rob Gunning stated, “This event has established itself over the years on our ASP Europe calendar and this year we are proud to welcome once again the world’s best surfers to the beautiful islands of the Azores.”

Surfers all over the world praise the amazingness of Azore’s beauty and are very excited to have a reason to visit the multiple waterfalls, hot-water pools, and of course, flawless waves.
