Rip Curl is excited to announce that they will be opening up a new store with SIMA Image Awards Retailer of the Year, Hansen Surfboards. The new store will be located just south of the original Hansen’s store, right across the street from the Swami’s Surf break in Encinitas, CA.
The shop will be officially be called Rip Curl by Hansen’s and will showcase the Rip Curl Brand product. Rip Curl was founded in 1969 and has turned into a way of life for surfers and enthusiasts all over the world. The company designs, produces and distributes a range of products for various board sports to more than 60 countries around the world. It still remains a private company with the goal of becoming the Ultimate Surf Company.
“Partnering with Rip Curl adds a new dimension to Hansen Surfboards,” said Josh Hansen, owner of Hansen Surfboards. “The store front looks great and the brand helps us create an even better shopping experience and improve our overall product offering with more wetsuits, boardshorts and bikinis, which is the hallmark of Rip Curl.”

Hansen’s Surfboards was established in 1961 and has become San Diego’s largest surfshop. The retail shop recently celebrated 50 years of success as a single-store, family owned business. The family credits the San Diego community, legends, and brands for a big part of it’s success.
