Watch as backflipping aerialist Gabriel Medina visits the Pukas Surf OLATU Factory in Northern Spain, to pick up his arsenal of boards and takes them out to test ride. Imagine walking into a surf shop to see a lineup of boards all custom made to your liking… That’s exactly what Pukas Surfboards does for ASP World Championship Tour athlete Gabriel Medina. If we could all be so lucky! Going into his second full season on tour, Medina’s threat to take home the world title is courtesy of his progressive surfing style and excellent equipment.
Pukas Surfboards were first made in the 1970’s in garages, farmhouses or old sawmills. From the beginning, the idea was to create top of the line surfboards for the European market. The OLATU factory, created in 1988, was the result of the experience acquired from the first professional shapers and glassers coming from overseas.
