Oakley team rider, Eric Geiselman, has taken on everything from shark attacks to career threatening injuries. This time, the young Floridian surfer charged heavy Backdoor Pipe to find himself laying in a hospital bed, thankfully with just a sore back and minor lesions.
Landing straight on his back after being taken out by a huge wave at backdoor, Geiselman is thankful to avoid any permanent damage after realizing he could move his toes. Both friends and lifeguards rushed to carefully help Geiselman off the beach and straight to the emergency room.
Often surfers take the chance of serious injury that can leave them paralyzed if not, dead. With heavy conditions and tricky locations for some of the best breaks in the world, injury is always lurking in the minds of today’s athletes.
