Jack Johnson recently announced his support for the victims of Hurricane Sandy by donating $50,000 to several different organizations, including: Food Bank for New York City, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Save The Children, Waves For Water, Global Giving and Direct Relief International. These six organizations have been working extremely hard in the last couple weeks in an effort to help over 600,000 people who are still without power.

Johnson’s donation comes at a perfect time as another powerful storm has hit the west coast, forcing areas already effected by the hurricane to endure more difficulties. In addition to the $50,000 donation, Jack Johnson has shipped 3,000 sweatshirts to Waves For Water, which is a non-profit organization aimed at providing clean water to communities around the world. Waves For Water will distribute those sweatshirts to coastal communities that are being effected by the storm that has hit the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
Johnson is encouraging others to do the same, as any amount will help. Whether you are donating money, food, clothes or hands on services, the people living in these distressed areas have an undeniable gratitude.

There are numerous ways that people can get involved with the hurricane relief efforts.
