Quiksilver Women's Store Grand Opening In Newport Beach's Fashion Island

Written by:

Quiksilver is proud to announce the opening of its next Californian location, the Quiksilver Women‘s store in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island. Trendy and full of autumn sweaters and cozy knits, the new shop caters to the surfer girl and the high-fashionista searching for a balance of East Coast sheek with California coastal influence.  Inspired by the style of popular fashion in Maine and North Carolina, the designer of Quiksilver Women blends functionality with warmth and feminitity to give the modern woman a spark of autumn beauty.

The Grand Opening of the store on October 4th invited industry heads, models, athletes and celebrities to join Quiksilver Women’s Sales and Marketing Kenna Florie, Quiksilver CEO Bob McKnight, and many others for a special evening of 50% discounts and delectable food from master French Chef Ludo Lefebvre.  A screening of Quiksilver‘s “Chef And The Sea” portrayed a special opportunity for the chef to deep sea fish with big wave surfer, Mark Healey, and 5x World Champion and Quiksilver team rider, Stephanie Gilmore. The fellow foodies, along with Reed McIntosh, jumped on-board to assist Ludo on his first fishing experience around the Big Island’s North Kona Coast in search of lobster, crab, uku and other local fish to send straight to the grill. Check out this mouthwatering video:

Acoustic guitarist, singer, and harmonica-skilled musician, Kevin Miso, played a southing sound last night to set the mood for the Grand Opening activities. A frequent performer at Quiksilver events, Kevin’s new album features drummer Nik Hughes, bass guitarist Mike Bucher, and Sublime founding member on the horns, Todd Forman. In addition to being a strong ambassador for the brand, Australian surfer Stephanie Gilmore also has an impressive sense of style. After traveling the world as a WCT competitor, she drives inspiration from coastal cities around the globe into the making of the Quiksilver Women’s line. Her input is deeply appreciated by the design team as they create a line of apparel perfect for the women looking for functional, beach-inspired attire. The fashion-forward line is a great addition to Newport Beach’s Fashion Island, catered to a more sophisticated demographic than sister brand, Roxy.

In addition to apparel, Quiksilver Women‘s Sales and Marketing Kenna Florie announced their partnership with the Newport Bay Conservancy, dedicated to protecting the wetlands in the area. Parts of the proceeds from the event were donated to the volunteer-based organization. We also found some beautiful bracelets and handmade jewelry pieces by 31 Bits, a unique organization from Uganda utilizing fashion and design to empower women to rise above poverty.

Here are some of The Surf Channel’s favorite pieces we found at the Quiksilver Women‘s store last night, hot on the market in the new QSW autumn collection, sure to fly off the shelves:
