PRESS RELEASE BY BOS AUSTRALIA
Last year, Kelly Slater and Shane Dorian teamed up with Omaze to give fans the chance to join them in Fiji for the vacation of a lifetime. The guys had such a great time that they decided to do it again with proceeds this year going to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Australia and MORE Than Sport. BOS Australia was specifically chosen by Slater to benefit from the campaign given his long-standing passion to help the planet and all of its inhabitants.
“I’ve wanted to do something with BOSA for many years,” the 11-times world champion said.
“Our close cousin, the orangutan, suffers some horrible effects of environmental devastation and lack of respect from some humans to be given their rightful space on this earth. I’d love to see some positive outcomes come as a result of the help we hope to provide.”
BOS Australia works to save the critically endangered orangutan in Borneo by rescuing and rehabilitating them. It also seeks to protect, restore and raise awareness for the conservation and protection of their habitat, which remains under threat predominantly from logging and ever sprouting palm-oil plantations.
Fans can enter for their chance to win a 7-day Fijian getaway packed with exquisite local food, great music and impressive breaks by visiting Omaze.com/Fiji. The grand prize winner and a guest of their choice will be flown out to Fiji to lap-up some quality time with two of the world’s best surfers where they will stay on the beautiful heart-shaped island of Tavaru in luxury accommodation with all meals and travel included.
